Our data team is made up of experienced industry practitioners across banking and insurance, having led many data management functions in firms and worked with a number of clients. Working alongside our subject matter experts who support the regulatory interpretation as well as the model development, the data team support the integration of data into the target architecture, on premise or in the cloud. Our data governance experts also support adherence of the controls required to deliver strategic solutions.
The team also provides services to replace End User Computing tools and help migrate toward upgraded integrated solutions. Through our suite of accelerators, we can support our clients address the many audit and controls issues that stem from having manual processes in place, replacing them with applications that adhere to IT standards.
Meet the Data Team
Colin Carmichael, Data Strategy
Colin has worked in Data & Analytics for the bulk of his 25 years in industry. With a strong software and data engineering background in Financial services he has also led businesses strategy and change programmes from business case to execution across a broad range of organisations.
Colin has led a range of IRB and IFRS9 data and governance workstreams for a range of banking clients including through his time at PwC advisory positions for regulatory alignment of the Data & IT articles. He also has experience of assurance of data strategies.
His years in industry has given him a broad range of experience in many areas of the FS industry including Risk, Finance, Customer, Operations, CIO, Actuarial and Sustainability.
Chris Palethorpe, Governance
Chris is a Data and Decisioning SME with over 15 years experience having worked with multiple banks to define and enhance their Data Management and Data Governance frameworks.
Prior to joining 4most Chris ran a Tier 1 bank’s Credit Risk Data, Systems and Reporting function for over 6 years. Chris’s team managed the Data quality and Data profiling of all Credit risk data in the bank and was involved in the relationship management and procurement of new data sources from external parties.
Chris has run large scale transformation programmes. Examples being leading the credit risk data and systems workstream for a successful IRB waiver submission, SAS data migrations, Decision System replacements and redeveloping and transforming Credit Risk MI into Tableau.
Paul Seabrooke, Data Management
Paul has over 20 years of Data Management and Data governance experience both within consultancy firms and UK and Global banks.
With experience in designing, deploying and assessing end to end data frameworks within regulated environments, particularly withing Credit Risk Model lifecycle.
Paul has strong business and technical experience and is able to bring the key functions within an organisation together to understand the need for wholistic joined up solutions.
Technically Paul has hands on experience on many products across the Analytics lifecycle but largely remains agnostic to technology with more focus on finding the correct solution for purpose.
Nigel Crask, Data Management
Nigel has over 20 years’ experience in consultancy as a Data/Solutions Architect and Business Analyst for large blue-chip companies.
Nigel is experienced in consolidating data from disparate sources – and merging them into a single, consolidated, analytically ready dataset(s). Recent activity in this area, required ingesting and merging over 100 data sources, from over 5 global regions.
Creation of Data Marts to support Wholesale and Retail IRB – Model Development, Model Validation and KRI reporting.
Nigel has supported a number of Tier 1 banks with large scale data remediation programmes supporting both CIO functions and Risk functions in defining and implementing solutions.
