Vishak Balagurunath

Background: MBA, Finance and Analytics; a decade of experience in Credit Risk Modelling, Banking, Financial Services and Risk Management. Relevant experience in developing models for IFRS 9, Anonymised Risk Scorecards, creation of ECL calculators, Data Analytics, as well as model validation and reporting.

Summary Statement: “My interests lie in the risk management domain, particularly in managing credit risk for banking and financial services clients. Regulatory guidelines related to IFRS 9, IRB, CECL, IND AS etc. are some of the topics I have focused on and the application of analytics concepts to these fields has fascinated me. 

I joined the 4most India team based in Bangalore in early 2022. During this tenure, I have had the opportunity to work on a gamut of projects ranging from model development to validation to implementation within IFRS 9. The working culture has been very different compared to other consulting companies as it presents a flatter hierarchical structure with high importance on openness, transparency, and training.  

Although time zone differences exist between the UK and India, colleagues and clients have been extremely understanding to accommodate India’s working hours for projects.

So far, my journey at 4most has been enriching, helping me learn and grow in my career.”

Summary Statement: “For 10 years I thought the credit bureau world is the most important area for the financial and government sectors. In November 2020, 4most decided to expand to the Middle East and I was glad to accept the business development role. This involves helping financial and non-financial organisations in the Middle East to better utilise their own data, maximise credit bureau data value and be compliant with related regulations. I’m happy to say that, in only two years of operations, we are already working with some of the largest UAE banks, and we are in regular communications with the regulators. 

Like the Middle East market, 4most are persistent, adaptable and curious. At 4most, each project is delivered with the same commitment and rigour, irrespective of size of project. This creates a unique relationship with our clients, where the people are remembered first by their names and then by their employer.
