02 June 2025
< 1 minute read
We were delighted to welcome industry leaders to our recent roundtable, where we discussed:
- Ideas for increasing the supply of productive assets and reducing the regulatory or operational burden on financial services firms to encourage investment.
- The specific challenges and opportunities in Scotland, including offshore renewable energy capabilities, political devolution, local authority coordination, and international competition.
- The potential for increased future investment in productive assets such as energy, utilities, and housing infrastructure.
- Opportunities to reduce the processing times of planning applications for large infrastructure projects through use of AI technology to enable faster investment decision making.
- Aligning future investment strategies with the UK government’s growth agenda, devolved Scottish policy, and recent regulatory reforms.
Thank you to all attendees for contributing to a thought-provoking discussion, and to Scottish Financial Enterprise for their support in organising and running the session.
