Meet the 4moster: Elisha Thomas, Compliance Manager
23 April 2026
At 4most, we are fortunate enough to work with a rich variety of colleagues that all bring unique perspectives to the areas of the business they contribute to. We caught up with Elisha Thomas, our London-based Compliance Manager, to learn a bit about her role and what she enjoys, both in and out of work.
âMy path into compliance definitely wasnât linearâŚâ
Q: Can you give us an overview of your role and responsibilities at 4most?
Elisha: As a Compliance Manager at 4most, my role is about helping the business do the right thing, clearly and confidently. That means translating complex legislation into practical policies people can actually use, overseeing Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence, managing internal audits, and delivering tailored training across the firm.
I work closely with teams across 4most, so compliance isnât seen as a blocker, but as part of how we operate day to day. At its best, compliance is about trust, balancing risk with opportunity and making sure our growth is rooted in responsibility. Itâs a role that keeps me curious, challenged, and constantly thinking about how we can do things better.
Q: Can you give us a bit of background into how you ended up in your current role?
Elisha: My path into compliance definitely wasnât linear. I studied Government and Creative Writing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, which set the tone for a career shaped more by curiosity than a fixed plan. From tracing Jane Austenâs footsteps and studying Common Law in Bath, to advocating for human rights in Nepal, Jordan, and Chile, I followed opportunities that felt meaningful to me.
Alongside that, I taught Creative Writing, including working with mothers in Ghana as part of my thesis on Motherhood. A message on LinkedIn eventually shifted my path from law and human rights into compliance, where I realised I could bring together structure, values, and real world impact. In 2023, I moved to London and found my place at 4most. Looking back each step makes sense, even if it didnât at the time.
Q: What are some 4most initiatives youâve been involved in?
Elisha: Iâve been lucky to work on a wide range of initiatives at 4most. A lot of my focus has been around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including data protection, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and our Employee Forum. Iâve also supported our journey to Certified B Corporation (B Corp) status.
âI get fulfilment from turning complex ideas into something practical and meaningfulâŚâ
Beyond that, Iâm involved in shaping internal policies, supporting sustainability goals, and helping embed compliance into how the firm operates. One highlight for me was delivering our first tailored compliance training and seeing how positively it landed. These projects matter to me because theyâre about building trust, giving people clarity, and making sure our values genuinely show up in practice.
Q: What has been your proudest 4most moment so far?
Elisha: Delivering our first bespoke compliance training stands out. Compliance can be misunderstood, so seeing colleagues engage with the session and later recall the key messages really mattered to me. It showed that the content landed and that it started conversations beyond the session itself.
I get fulfilment from turning complex ideas into something practical and meaningful, and helping people feel more confident in their decisions.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?
Elisha: The variety. No two days look the same. I might be carrying out Know Your Business (KYB) checks one day, then working on procurement, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), certifications, trainings, or policy updates the next.
Compliance touches every part of the business, and I enjoy building relationships with teams to understand how they work and where support is needed. That mix of collaboration, problem solving and constant learning keeps the role fresh and genuinely rewarding.
Q: What motivates you?
Elisha: Iâve always been guided by something my mother used to say: âWhere thereâs a will, thereâs a way.â Growing up with anxiety taught me that motivation isnât about forcing yourself forward, but about becoming the person you want to be.
âIf you believe in what youâre doing and why it matters, that will come through in your workâŚâ
What drives me is leading with kindness, sharing knowledge, and helping others grow. Compliance might sound rigid, but at its core itâs about everyday values: fairness, integrity, and respect. Iâm motivated by finding meaning in the work I do and showing that even in compliance, thereâs plenty of room for humanity.
Q: What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work?
Elisha: I love anything that feels immersive and creative. Dancing is a big one, losing yourself in rhythm is incredibly grounding for me. Baking is another joy, especially when the kitchen fills with the smell of cinnamon rolls or rosemary sourdough, ideally shared with people I care about.
Travel feeds my curiosity, whether thatâs exploring cultures, food, or stories. I also enjoy photography, capturing nature, animals, and fleeting human moments, and making handmade cards for birthdays and weddings. Theyâre small things, but they bring a lot of meaning into my everyday life.
Q: What advice would you give someone wanting to follow a similar career path to you?
Elisha: Stay curious and keep an open mind. Compliance isnât just about rules, itâs about trust, judgement and understanding people. Youâre creating structure that allows others to work with confidence, not limiting creativity.
Learn deeply, ask questions, and donât be afraid to shape your own path into the field. The most effective compliance professionals are the ones who combine technical knowledge with empathy and perspective. If you believe in what youâre doing and why it matters, that will come through in your work.
